Start with a question, then follow the signals.

A practical guide to using HAPPENSNEXT, understanding a forecast, and knowing what the product can and cannot tell you.

01

What should I ask?

Use a question with a clear event and horizon. “Will this happen?” is a useful start, but “Will X happen by date Y?” gives the model a better frame.

Name the subject.
Set a time horizon.
Define what a resolved outcome means.
02

How do I read the answer?

Start with the probability, then inspect the drivers and counter-signals. Treat confidence and evidence coverage as part of the answer, not decoration.

Probability: the current modelled position.
Confidence: how strong the evidence structure is.
Coverage: what is present or missing.
03

Can HAPPENSNEXT be wrong?

Yes. A forecast is an attempt to make uncertainty legible, not a guarantee. The product is most useful when you can see what would change the current read.

Use the forecast as decision context.
Check the source and freshness.
Return after meaningful new signals.

Governed probability

For the supported route, the registered specialist predictor owns the stored 1X2 vector.

Evidence quality

The card reports pre-cutoff inputs, source timestamps, data sufficiency and limitations.

Immutable record

Updates are new revisions. The original probability stays preserved until reality resolves it.
